María V. Reyes is voted “Aggie Mother of the Year.” Her husband, eight sons, daughter,
grandson, and numerous nieces and nephews were all Aggies, and her daughter, Rachel Gonzáles, later became the first Hispanic President of the Federation of Texas A&M University Mothers’ Club in 1983.
